15 Chapter 1 Full Release Dev Log #2 3/18/2025
Meet MC (You), I Really like now he came out!
I know…I fell off the map again. But my due to my day job requiring additional hours and some family issues needing my attention, I had to divert my time to those. Any free time that I did have I focused on the scripting and writing of the game. Considering the nature of the game, I wanted to ensure the story of all this was as polished as I could make it, sense my back ground is art, I was lucky enough to give extra time to the narrative elements. Which I am NOW happy to say that the story is in its final redrafting stage before I look the script and grind out these statics, animations and audio.
Now on to the breakdown…
WRITING
This is by far the most investment I've ever put into a script. After thousands of index cards, hundreds of hours, and 5 complete revisions, ongoing test readings and…full on conversations with myself to ensure the dialogue flows, I think I created something everyone will enjoy…Shout out to my test readers! Thank you for your time and honesty.
VISUALS
I'm more native to Blender, and still new in the 3d art scene (And having to deal with the learning curve of daz -_-), but my past knowledge of 2d digital art really helped me here. The original plan was to do the final rendering in blender, and honestly will do it this way in future installments of 15…If there is a large enough player base for it. But for now, renders both animation will be done in Daz for time constraint. I've added some 'pre-polished' test images from when I was playing with the software and perhaps one of them is a sneak peak. <_<
I originally had in conception four episodes in this chapter, but lowered it to three for cleaner writing.
AUDIO
It completely slipped my mind to mention this in the first Dev log but I tried to implement Voice Acting, But the quality was…not to my liking…well Yes and No. I'd rather have no VA than bad VA, so I decided to take it out for the most part. With this choice, I've started to put a heavier focus of audio, sound effects, mood, music, etc. Thankfully, this portion was the most streamlined.
SCENES
Still tinkering with the animation(s) here. So I'll have the proper downtime, I'm knocking out the statics first so I'll have ample time to let my perfectionist out here. However, in the sense of the script Well…I think you'll dig it.
CODING
Almost done with the base code so far no hiccups. Due to this for the most part being a narrative, with choices, it's just a matter of putting in the time.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Even with the changes and time constraint, I'm still confident that 15, at least the full release of Chapter 1, will be released 15 May.
That's all I got for now.
Whether 2 people play this or 200, I want to make sure you all enjoy this game.
